Time-of-flight mass spectrometer PTR-MS with high resolution, providing benzene sensitivity over 200 k/s/ h/s, resolution over 5000 FWHM and detection limit of 10ppt.
Kore Technology developed the world's first flight-time mass spectrometer for connection to a proton transfer reactor back in 2002, and since then we have continued our innovations. We are pleased to present our more powerful and high-performance device PTR-TOF-MS, PTR 2e.
The original Kore PTR tool has been redesigned to provide:
High sensitivity resulting in low detection limits for analyte species
High mass resolution for unambiguous identification of chemicals
Durable portable tool for use in the field
PTR-MS is a soft ionization method using H 3 O+ ions to transfer protons to all compounds with higher proton affinity than water. The common components in the air are not ionized by the hydronium beam, but most volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are ionized by H+3+ practically without fragmentation. With using this method H 3 O + PTR-MS other molecules can be detected, such as hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S), hydrogen cyanide (HCN) and ammonia (NH 3 ) .
Ionization occurs in a low-pressure reactor (from 0.1 to 2 mbar) under dilute conditions, that is, in order to avoid competition for charge between different analyte molecules, as can happen with API sources. The result is very high sensitivity combined with linearity and simple quantitative analysis. The same hardware can also be used with other reagent ions if it is desired that O 2 + and NO+ are the usual choices.
Specifications
HIGH SENSITIVITY
The Pore-Pore-MS series 2e is equipped with a new and new PTR reactor with an ion concentrator developed by Kore, as part of a reactor capable of reaching > 200 sDr/ppbv of benzene. This significantly reduces the ion losses that normally occur in a reactor due to a phenomenon known as "bulk charge", in which high-density ions repel each other. This new device directs the ions to exit the reactor, as a result, a strong current ion beam passes into the next part of the device. This reactor and concentrator are also installed on the PTR-TOF-MS Series 1.
HIGH MASS RESOLUTION
The 2e PTR-MS series from Kore is equipped with a new spectrometer capable of providing a resolution of up to 8000 masses. For normal operation, the device operates at > 5000.The flight path is longer than that of the I-series instrument, which leads to a lower repetition rate (pulse frequency), which slightly reduces sensitivity compared to a smaller instrument, but with the additional advantage of high mass resolution. However, sensitivity levels remain high even at high mass resolution with benzene > 200 sP/ppbv.
DURABLE AND TRANSPORTABLE
The 2e PTR-MS series is designed for easy and safe transportation, but with sufficient mass resolution and sensitivity to meet the most demanding applications. It is placed in a specially designed vertical rack, which facilitates transportation in a standard van.The tool "floats" inside the frame, so that it is "cushioned" during transportation.

Accessories
ION SWITCHING OF REAGENTS
This additional module allows you to quickly switch gases-ions-reagents under full computer control (water vapor and 2 alternative gases-ions-reagents).Switching can be controlled manually or set switching at preset time intervals.
PERMEABILITY CALIBRATION DEVICE
The permeability mass calibration device is a heated module that allows adding a low concentration of mass calibrant through a penetrating device directly into the PTR reactor, allowing automatic mass calibration using a calibrant in the mass range of 0-350 microns.
HEATED INTAKE LINES
All our PTR-MS devices can be equipped with internal and external heated inlet lines designed for 200 °C and made of passivated inert materials for minimal VOC losses and low VOC adsorption.
PTR FIELD MEASUREMENT KIT
As part of our extensive prototype testing, we have developed a field measurement kit that would overcome some of the difficulties in field campaigns. The kit includes winch equipment for installing the compact PTR-MS in and out of the van, as well as power adapters and equipment for controlling the tool using a specially designed portable power supply (Kore Technology Field battery pack).
FLOW CONTROL AT THE INLET
For some user applications, it is important to know the flow of the sample/analyzed gas behind the sampling inlet in order to shorten the residence time of the gas sample in the intake system and create reproducible sampling conditions. This additional option provides a computer-controlled inlet flow using a mass flow controller, allowing the user to set the inlet gas flow to 1 l/min.
INPUT MODULES
Kore Technology has developed a series of reliable input modules, including PTFE desorbers, trap desorbers and SPME.;
FLIGHT CASES
Our standard shipping containers are reusable wooden crates that our customers often use to transport tools to field sites. We also offer reusable suitcases with shock protection and durable sides for customers who regularly send instruments to the measurement sites.
PRE-CONCENTRATOR WITH FAST INTEGRATED CHROMATOGRAPHIC SEPARATION.
The fast thermosetting desorber, which is one of the three sample entry systems we have developed for PREFICS, is also available as a separate interface for our PTR-TOF-MS instruments for sensitive detection of semi-volatile components.
