Copy: PTFE Magnetic Rods

Item number.Specifications

(mm * mm)Product Description A3*6 mm Magnetic stirrer is a magnet enclosed in a material that does not react with the liquid in which it is immersed. The stirrer magnets include a molded layer of PTFE (aka Teflon), which does not react with many liquids.

The magnet is placed in a container and rotates using an external magnetic field. This usually happens with the help of a stirring plate, which has another magnet rotating under the container.

The main advantage of such an installation is that you can mix the liquid without allowing it to stick to the container. The container can be completely closed. If the rotating shaft does not get stuck in the tank, you do not have to worry about leaks or contamination of the liquid with lubricants.

They can mix liquids without opening a hole in the container. This is a popular way of mixing liquids in containers of modest size. Magnetic stirrers are used in chemistry and biology research, especially in medicine. Home brewers often use them as a starter for yeast.4 * 10 mm5 * 15 mm5 * 20 mm5 * 25 mm6 * 12 mm6 * 15 mm6 * 20 mm6 * 30 mm6 * 40 mm6 * 50 mm7 * 20 mm7 * 25 mm7 * 30 mm7 * 34 mm7 * 60 mm8 * 16 mm8 * 25 mm8 * 30 mm8 * 45 mm8 * 48 mm8.5 * 36 mm8.5 * 40 mm9 * 25 mm9 * 38 mm9 * 35 mm9 * 459 * 48 mm9 * 50 mm9 * 55 mm9 * 65 mm10 * 45 mm10 * 60 mm12 * 55 mmX1.5 * 9 mm Mixing rod is a magnetic rod placed in a liquid that provides mixing. The movement of the stirrer rod is driven by another rotating magnet or a block of electromagnets in the stirrer device located under a vessel containing liquid. Stirrer rods are usually coated with Teflon, less often with glass. Glass coatings are used for liquid alkali metals (except those that corrode glass) and solutions of alkali metals in ammonia. Both coatings are chemically inert and do not contaminate the reaction mixture in which they are located and do not react with it.

They are rod-shaped and often octagonal in cross-section (sometimes round), although there are various special shapes for more efficient mixing. Most stirring rods have a protrusion around the center (called a rotary ring) on which they rotate. The smallest of them are only a few millimeters long, and the largest are a few centimeters. The stirrer rod extraction device is a separate magnet at the end of a long stick (usually coated with Teflon) that can be used to extract the stirrer rods from the vessel.
