Copy: KIPK device

Description:

This KIPP machine, or GAP Generator, is a piece of glass for cooking a small amount of gases, such as carbon dioxide. It consists of 3 chambers oriented vertically, with a stop located near the top of the middle chamber, so that the gas can be released into the desired laboratory equipment. The KIPP device has three main segments. The first and upper segment is a Thistle funnel and a lamp structure through which dilute acid can be poured. This reacts with metal sulfide at the base of the apparatus. Hydrogen sulfide gas evolved from this reaction, collects in the middle of the dome, from where it can be released through a stockcock leak. The base is provided with a residual socket, which is limited for easy cleaning.

Glass is high temperature and chemical resistant.
